Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the session?

All sessions are 55 min long.

What is the structure of the session? What should I expect?

Sessions are tailored to the needs of each student. Typically, we begin with a gentle warm-up to release tension, followed by a series of exercises designed to stretch and strengthen the body using equipment or props. Depending on individual needs, sessions may conclude with a closing exercise to support integration and relaxation.

What should I wear and bring?

Please wear comfortable sports clothing suitable for movement practices such as yoga or Pilates.

  • As sessions may involve corrective, guiding, and supportive touch, we kindly ask that clothing appropriately covers the stomach and private areas.

  • Most of our equipment is white, so please wear socks with a sticky undersole to cover foot nail polish which can leave a mark. These are also available for purchase at the studio.

  • Do not wear attire with zippers, as they may puncture or scratch the equipment.

  • Hair should be tied up to allow the instructor to clearly see your neck - shoulder alignment.

  • Please leave valuable jewellery at home or store them safely in your bag for the duration of the session.

  • Bring your own water bottle to support a more sustainable practice.

How do I access the studio? Are there stairs or a lift?

There are three steps between the building and the road, with a railing available for the first step only.
At present, there is no lift or wheelchair access. We recognise this limitation and are working with other tenants to improve accessibility.

What facilities are available on the premises?

This is a home studio. During your session, you are allowed access only to the studio room (close to the main door) and a guest toilet at the end of the corridor.

  • The guest toilet may also be used for changing.

  • There is a shelf-box in the studio for your personal items and there are hangers for your coat/bag.

Please note that there is no shower, and all other areas of the house are not available for student use.

Can I keep my mobile phone with me during the class?

All devices are to be stored in your bag during the session.

Exceptions can be made if you are expecting an important call or require your device for accessibility reasons.

Do I need to bring a towel to lay it on the equipment during my class?

Generally, towels are not used on the equipment when practicing Classical Pilates. However, if you experience sweat and need a face towel under the head, these will be available.

If you require a longer towel to lie on, please bring one with you. Note, we ask that such towels are only white due to the upholstery of the equipment.

Are the duet sessions mixed genders?

For duet sessions, you can book the class with a friend, family member or colleague you know or we can pair you up with someone roughly your level.

If you prefer booking a duet session with a particular gender due to religious reasons please inform us and we will do our best to accommodate that.

I have an injury but don't know what it is, can you help?

If you’re experiencing an injury but are unsure of the cause, we recommend consulting a qualified health professional such as a physiotherapist, osteopath, or chiropractor before starting Pilates or movement sessions with us. Once you have more information, please share it with us so we can adapt the sessions to support your needs safely and effectively. This ensures you receive an accurate assessment and appropriate guidance.
